LEADERSHIP TEAM 

Erich Krause, President

Erich Krause

Prior to establishing Building Works Ltd. Erich worked as an independent Project Manager providing development and construction services to large-scale builders for over 35 years. His initial training and work ethic came from his father who was a successful builder in Vancouver. Erich began his building career with single family homes in 1972, but quickly moved on to apartment buildings, townhouse projects, high rises, and commercial and institutional buildings. He even built a Synagogue. With many years of experience and extensive training in Building Technology, Concrete Technology, the National Building Code, and Construction of Building Envelopes at BCIT, Erich’s expertise guides the implementation of best practices and building details at Building Works Ltd.

Dieter Krause, Project Manager and Vice President 

Dieter Krause



Dieter is one of the third generation of the Krause construction family and has over 17 years of building experience. Starting from the ground up, Dieter has worked in all aspects of construction, from building foundations, to framing, to the customer turn-over of high end townhouses. Dieter is a BCIT certified Building Envelope Specialist. Dieter’s keen eye for detail serves him well in the quality control of building envelopes and construction procedures and overall project management.

Catherine Wadden, Office Manager

Catherine Wadden

Catherine grew up and got her Business Administration education in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. She gained experience in various fields, including IT third party software support, and various administrative roles. Throughout her early career, Catherine worked hard to hone her administrative skills, including accounts payable and receivable, data entry, organization, and scheduling. She moved to Calgary in 2015  and continued to build on her administrative skills. In January 2023, Catherine joined Building Works to take on the roll of Office Manager.  Her wealth of knowledge, passion for organization, attention to detail and commitment to providing exceptional service, makes her a most valuable member of the Building Works Team.

 Scott Oud, Project Manager

Scott came to Building Works in 2016 after many years of experience with other construction companies and building subcontractors. He has obtained a Water Restoration Technician (WRT) and an Anti-Microbial Restoration Technician (AMRT ) designation from the Institution Of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification, as well as a Building Envelope Specialist certification from BCIT. Scott has established himself as a knowledgeable Project Manager and is committed to excellence. His professionalism, dedication and leadership, ensures clients are very well served. 

Tim Chapman, Project Manager

Tim Chapman

Over the years, Tim has proudly become an accomplished carpenter and project manager with over 15 years of experience in the construction industry. He got his start doing home renovations with his uncle and brother, and he advanced quickly under their mentorship. Tim went on to increase his skillset, learning about mold and asbestos abatement, window and door installations and also found that carpentry came naturally to him.  In 2010, Tim started his own small construction company in Calgary, specializing in building envelope repairs on high-rise commercial buildings. Tim has since joined Building Works in the role of Project Manager and is a valuable member of our team.   With his keen eye for detail, extensive knowledge, and his experience, Tim is able to provide our customers with an accurate assessment of building envelope issues and is able to develop a comprehensive restoration plan. 

Marsha Reynolds, Client Relations

Marsha Reynolds

Marsha came to Calgary as a teenager from Toronto and went to University of Calgary obtaining a degree in Economics. The next many years she spent working as a Landman (Land Negotiator and Contracts Specialist) in the Oil Industry. In 2014 Marsha retrained and attended Mount Royal University to obtain certificates in both Home Staging and Decorating. In Marsha’s role as Client Relations Coordinator she is our Client’s first contact at Building Works, Mold Squad and BW Windows & Doors. Marsha enjoys connecting with people and is naturally empathetic. Marsha understands the worry our clients experience with Mold, Building Envelope and Renovation issues and steps up to ensure our clients understand the steps that will be taken to get their issues resolved. Her enthusiasm and work ethic are contagious and she makes the environment around her and the people she works with a fun and enjoyable experience.
